New Al Qaeda cell forms in Burkina Faso, as terror group cements foothold in Africa
The violent reign of ISIS may have captured more headlines in recent years, but there is a growing concern that Al Qaeda (AQ) is still the most dominant and threatening global force. And in recent weeks, AQ has ascertained a deeper foothold in the Sahel region of Africa to threaten the U.S and other allied forces operating in the region. According to intelligence sources on the ground, as of late September AQ declared it had formed a “new cell” in Burkina Faso.
